InP Optoelectonics Devices Scientist
Position: InP Optoelectronic Devices Scientist
Location: Hsinchu
Education: PhD in EE, Optoelectronics, Physics or related field

Responsible for the development/productization of InP/InGaAsP and InP/AlInGaAs wafers, TO components, and optical chips. Serve as a manager for new development of InP based devices such as High Power/Extended Temperature DFB, EML, 10G APD, and other higher speed devices. Also responsible for the performance, quality, and process control of semiconductor laser diode, detector, as well as EML’s currently in production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead activities for the development of 10 Gbps-40Gbps InP/InGaAsP and InP/AlInGaAs based devices. Manage RD engineers to achieve the best performance in the key areas of Delivery, Quality, Competitiveness and New Product Development.

Supervise the performance and reliability of the InP/InGaAsP and InP/AlInGaAs chips, TO components, and packaged devices. Develop a global strategy for the optoelectronics devices to become the best quality OE devices supplier in the industry.

Facilitate periodic meetings to manage/optimize overall chip, TO components, and packaged devices performance and quality. Review standard metrics, discuss market/industry factors, and perform competitive bench marking.

Communicate and conduct meetings, presentations, and updates with engineers, manufacturing locations, business segments/units, and executive management.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• PhD in EE, Optoelectronics, Physics or related field
• 5-plus years of related experience
• Ability to work in Taiwan OE division
• Proven design and reliability analytic skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• PhD in EE, Optoelectronics, Physics or related field
• 10+years of experience in the semiconductor optoelectronic device industry in Japan
• Work location in Taiwan
• Past experience in design, manufacturing, reliability of semiconductor optoelectronic devices
• Preferably from US companies in similar markets
